My single plot has the 1873 Steil growing in it. This garden is always the last out of the gate, probably due to a different cooler soil type. Both gardens were made a year apart and with different soils trucked in.
Anyway, the 1873 isn't an easy one to grow. Slow side vines and some early sides shooting straight up. I haven't broke any yet but it's a handful to get in place. I hope the rest of the sides wake up and start moving.
This garden always finishes strong and has done back to back seasons of 400+ pound September/Octobers.
