"Coffee contains lots of polyphenols, which are able to form a complex with the iron-ions. This reduces the bioavailability of the iron significantly. "
Coffee grounds are antagonistic towards some minerals? Like calcium, copper, and iron? Any raw material is probably antagonistic towards something. And coffee grounds are no exception. Anything that steals or binds to critical minerals will inhibit growth/ act like a herbicide. When a bunch of different materials are mixed and allowed to sit for while, then these conflicts should sort themselves out.
I plan to use a lot of coffee grounds. But I'm going to try to avoid any herbicidal affects.
I think they do pose a significant "risk". I want the benefits, not the drawbacks.
