Grass Seed Germination
Since the goal is to get soil coverage the rate of seeding is well above the recommended rate typically around 10-12 pounds per 1,000sq.ft. This is working out well and other than a few washouts from a down pour that occurred it will start a good root zone to help build the soil and prevent it from further washouts over the rest of the year.
While this may not be the chosen cover crop for most it does work well and also is easy to maintain over the year since it only requires mowing once established. However, if you want to compare some of the more common cover crops see the following link for key characteristics�
