Just a beginner question here...my kids are helping me grow pumpkins this year (or am I helping them?)...one of the kids filed too much until you could see a small crack. Will this one grow?

The seed will grow fine unless the growing point is damaged

Ive sanded into the cotyledon with no ill effects(other than a notch later). If you sand into the pointy end different story

I have in the past actually removed the seed shell from the cotyledon and it grows just fine. The main thing is not to damage the cotyledon.
