I have the best luck just filing off the "horns", soak in water for 2-3 hours then plant in damp ProMixBX and keep moist and warm (90F) for 5-7 days, sometimes up to 10 days. Not too wet and not too cold. Both of which have caused me problems in the past but the last couple years this is what has worked good for me.
