Are the seeds grown only in the bottom of the gourd or all along the neck? And about how many are there?

From my experience the seeds are found primarily in the lower 1/4 or 1/3 of the fruit. Seed counts tend to vary, much like giant pumpkins. Never actually counted all of them...I'd guess the range is something like 75-250? Some of my longest gords have given up the fewest seeds? Hope this helps, Duff
