HELP! I'm having a very difficult time germinating long gourd seeds. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Last year my direct sown seeds took over 2 weeks to come up. I don't know what other peoples experience is but for me they were slow to germinate. It's possible you might not be doing anything wrong, they may just take some time?
Anyone else?

Some varietys take a while to germinate...they generally like it hot, about 90 degrees F. I've also seen some gourds having a high or low germination rate.

Light filing, overnite soak, and two days and counting in damp paper towel on a heat mat set around 85*... I read that some people crack them first with their teeth? Good luck! Duff
