my 1006 GREER was a late bloomer, and had differant looking fruit from any of my 14 plants? When it was ready for pollination, it had white with green stripes? The fruit remainned pale & the stripes became ribs. The other plants already had basketball size fruit, so i was willing to experament? My thought was the white would be easier to convert than orange? And since it had the green stripes why not? It eventually grew a 584pumpkin that was DQ at the TERMINATER because of Rats? (Another lesson learned) It was used as a boat for our regotta because of its natural hull?? I made it to the first corner and took water down the back? In a split second it became an anchor? (Another lesson learned) 260pnd man needs larger than 584boat? /// anyway Im probably going to be the only one growing it for 06" //// I have more than plenty seeds now? But if it grows a 1000lber, I hope there are still some left for you in 07" // get em while thier unknown? //// DBH

kind of similar cross as one of my 585*'s.
I grew it this year, and it did well for it's location.
good luck, it should be green!
